LPA-CGR avocats strengthens its M&A practice with the arrival of Christian Sauer as partner
Christian Sauer joins LPA-CGR avocats as a partner, strengthening the firm’s M&A practice. His arrival confirms the firm’s ambition to increase its cross-border M&A practice, which is at the core of its international development strategy.
With almost 20 years of experience, Christian advises French, European and international clients, including corporates, financial institutions and funds, on complex growth transactions. He assists both sellers and buyers on M&A transactions, private equity, equity investments, financing, restructuring and joint ventures.
Christian is particularly active in the telecommunications, technology, media and life sciences sectors, where his expertise is widely recognized.
He joins LPA-CGR avocats’ Mergers & Acquisitions team in Paris, which now counts around thirty lawyers, including 11 partners. As a Franco-German, Christian works in particular for German and German-speaking economic players for their developments in France and more widely in Europe. He also joins the firm’s German Desk, composed of fifteen lawyers with bicultural backgrounds or nationalities, including 6 partners, who work closely with the firm’s 3 offices in Germany (Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich), and represents a very dynamic development area for the entire firm.
Christian Sauer comments: “I am delighted to join LPA-CGR avocats, one of the few French law firms with a truly international approach, and particularly a strong Franco-German axis. The sectors in which LPA-CGR avocats has a strong presence represent great opportunities, and I am pleased to pursue my career within a dynamic team with real ambitions in terms of cross-border growth transactions”.
Julie Cittadini and Raphaël Chantelot, partners and co-heads of the M&A practice, add: “Our ambition to strengthen our M&A practice and to capitalize on the excellence of our German Desk is perfectly reflected in Christian’s arrival. His dual culture and international focus are a valuable asset for our team and our clients”.
