LPA-CGR avocats and SZA advised Mutares on the acquisition of a production site for transmissions from automotive supplier Magna
LPA-CGR avocats advised, together with German lawfirm SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz, Mutares SE & Co. KGaA (ISIN: DE000A2NB650) on the acquisition of a production site near Bordeaux, which manufactures and assembles full transmissions from automotive supplier Magna. The transaction is expected to be completed in Q1 2023.
Mutares SE & Co. KGaA is a listed private equity holding company with offices in Munich, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Helsinki, London, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Stockholm and Vienna. The company acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, based in Europe, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process.
The Bordeaux production site manufactures premium transmissions for the automotive industry, employs 740 people and was expected to generate revenues of around EUR 200 million in 2022.
This acquisition will strengthen the automotive & mobility segment of Mutares and bring deep expertise and capabilities in machining and assembly.
