Sébastien Thouvenot is a counsel specialised in Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Law in Africa.
Sébastien has over 20 years‘ experience dedicated exclusively to Francophone practice in Africa. He advises on corporate, regulatory and commercial matters, as well as on major infrastructure projects such as public-private partnerships. He works in the fintech, telecoms, mining, hydrocarbons and energy sectors.
Sébastien spent 11 years in the projects team at Eversheds Sutherland in Paris, 9 years as a partner at ENSafrica, based in South Africa and Mauritius and 2 years in the Africa team at CMS Francis Lefebvre.
He completed a doctorate on the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) in 2002 and co-wrote several books and articles on the subject.
He has been ranked since 2012 by Chambers and Partners among the best lawyers in OHADA law and since 2018 by Africa Business+ (Jeune Afrique) in the 100 Legal Powerlist.
