LPA-CGR avocats strengthens its leading position in Algeria with hire of Rym Loucif as partner to head the Corporate – M&A practice of the Algiers office

Admitted to the Paris Bar since 2006, Rym Loucif’s practice focuses on Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate law. She is particularly active in cross-border mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. She has gained extensive experience in several regulated sectors, including energy (oil & gas, renewables) and telecommunications.

Rym Loucif joins LPA-CGR avocats as partner to lead the Algiers office’s Corporate-M&A practice, in collaboration with all the firm’s practice groups, both in Paris and in other LPA-CGR avocats offices around the world. Rym Loucif’s arrival strengthens the firm’s M&A and Corporate practice, which now counts 17 partners worldwide.

Rym Loucif is a graduate of King’s College London and holds a Master’s degree in business law and an in-house counsel diploma (Diplôme de Juriste Conseil d’Entreprise) from Paris II – Panthéon-Assas University. She worked for over six years in Paris for leading US law firms (Willkie Farr and Gibson Dunn), and then in Gide’s Algiers office for nearly seven years.

She recently advised International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), Philip Morris International, Aabar Investment PJS, Veon (formerly VimpelCom), RATP and Renault in their investments in Algeria.

LPA-CGR avocats’ Algiers office is also strengthening its ties with the law firm of Fatima-Zohra Bouchemla, a prominent member of the Algiers Bar who is active in Algerian business and institutional circles. Fatima-Zohra Bouchemla was Deputy Minister responsible for Algerians residing abroad. She has recognized expertise in litigation and arbitration.
